DNA link to Heart Disease

Up to half of Caucasians carry one copy of the variant, or “risk allele,” which increases their risk of heart disease by 15 to 20 per cent, while 20 to 25 per cent of Caucasians have inherited two copies, increasing their risk of coronary heart disease by 30 to 40 per cent, the scientists report.
